Audio coming from opposite direction

How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? All of them except Toddler Stuff, as of the Jungle Adventures release
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? I have no clue. It started happening after a massive audio malfunction in which many sound would play at once on startup (I hadn't really installed or messed with anything recently). I closed the game, deleted the cache files (just two files, nothing problematic) and after restarting, every game file had this issue.
What happens when the bug occurs? Audio comes from the opposite direction to the camera. If a sim is talking or a stereo is playing on the right of the screen the sound would come from the left. If you then move to the opposite side, the direction is also inverted. Every sound in the game is affected by this, and also in every save file.
What do you expect to see? The sound coming from the same direction as the source is located.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? No

I had recently installed the Master Controller mod but never got to use it. Nothing happened for two or three game sessions and on the following one, when the audio malfunction happened, i deleted the files when clearing the cache. The issue remained though.
