Basegame Update not showing up

The sims base-game update for October 2024 is not showing up in my sims. I have automatic updates on but none of the new aspects of the update are showing up. I only downloaded my sims about a week ago, maybe that plays a part in it? I do not  have mods or anything like that, I have a few expansion packs though. Please explainnnn? I am new to playing sims but i have watched other people play it or years.
