Blackscreen

Every time I boot up the sims 4 the screen goes to black, or it will have the opening ad and when I press the X button to close it, it blackscreens on me. It is a reoccurring problem, and I have to hard restart my PC every time. It doesn't work without or with mods. It is getting really annoying and I just want to play the sims again. Is this a bug with EA or...?
