Bought a get famous dlc code can I use it on steam?

I purchased the base game on steam, I just bought a physical copy of dlc since steam (at least for me) runs better so I thought this would be a non-issue but I can't seem to activate it in steam? I don't think I can return this so it'll be really annoying if I can't use it at all just because four years ago I chose steam over origin to launch my game -_-

am I missing something I've search all over the web for answers but all everyone is talking about is origin origin origin. help a steam user out here did I just waste my money?

@PicklePizza6 if you can ignore it, I'd ignore it. I know a bunch of people who run both steam and origin dlc on steam basegame. The warning is just telling you you need basegame to run it.

  • @PicklePizza6 steam basegame is compatible with origin dlc though? If you claim it on origin, then run the basegame through stam, it should also load origin dlc when it boots origin.

I can? That is such a relief, I wasn't sure if it was compatible and I didn't want to waste my code without knowing. the internet is not very helpful with finding out these things when I tried to find out if it was compatible it only came up with results for the opposite steam to origin when I needed to know about origin to steam

Actually I just tried it. it says I need the basegame to get it but I do have it, only on steam so now i'm back at square one wishing I didn't buy this thing. I just wanted to get dlc for an nice price but all i'm getting is a headache.

I have the steam version of the basegame in my origin library, I also have the origin basegame but it is not installed because that would take up way too much space and probably cause problems

this is what I see, unfortunately I cam't fine any information on if I should ignore it of if I need the origin basegame for it to be compatible, I do hope things will be a little less complicated and more steamlined when sims 5 rolls around I have some faith in it

AHH it worked perfectly thank you for being patient with me sorry if I came off as complain-y I just wanted to make sure It was 100% going to work before jumping in and just putting in a code. I'm so glad it works that way since dlc codes are super affordable thanks again!

@PicklePizza6 Don't worry about it 🙂 there's a random person telling you it's okay to do it while your gut is telling you it might be not, I would also be a little apprehensive about trying 😉
