Can't Open Cheat Console

Picked up the Sims 4 after a 2-3 week break and I was away from my computer. When I try to open the cheat console by typing the sequence "ctrl+Shift+c" it opens my Microsoft Copilot. I did not make any shortcuts to Copilot. When that happened I closed out of Copilot and tried to back to the game, but it showed only a white screen and it was not being responsive. After restarting the PC I tried to open the Sims 4 again, but it would load and crash. After a few more attempts, it has now loaded the game, but I still cannot open the cheats console without Copilot opening instead.

  • puzzlezaddict I appreciate the follow-up. I found a solution by going to the bottom right of the taskbar, right-clicking the Copilot icon, and clicking Exit. When I do press Ctrl-Shift-C, in-game or out, the Copilot shortcut doesn't work, which I am fine with. I should have mentioned that I am not on Windows 11, and I couldn't find a list of shortcuts from your steps.

  • Joshawott34  Have you checked Copilot's shortcut?  It's normally Windows key-C, but maybe something changed on your system.  Even if not, it's worth changing the shortcut to a different key (not C) as a test.  You can do so under Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Keyboard > Shortcuts and hotkeys.

I'm also seeing reports that the right ctrl key somehow became linked to Copilot on some systems, a couple of years ago, so try the left one.
