Sims 4 keep crashing

Hi my game has been crashing ever since the June update ever time I load my sims 4 to new game, load game when I pick a season to play in and resume it crashes and I can’t play the game at all I deleted my localthumbache and CAs worked but went to go load it again and now that doesn’t even work I removed most of my mod and it still doesn’t work and I am on a yoga Lenovo laptop please help it’s been going on for weeks thank u

  • Mini-toes123  The type of crash you're getting is usually mod-related.  That's not always the case, but the next step after removing mods would be to do a clean uninstall of the game before reinstalling it, so it's a lot easier to test without mods first.  Repair the game (again, if you have already) after removing the rest of your mods and before testing.

If you get another crash, here's how to do a clean uninstall of Sims 4:

  • Mini-toes123  With your entire Mods folder removed, can you load a new save, not just CAS but live mode?  Please test if you haven't already.  If that doesn't work, remove the entire Sims 4 folder, so the game has to generate a new one, and try another new save.  Don't use anything from the Gallery.

If the new folder doesn't work, please provide a dxdiag.  Click Windows key-R, enter dxdiag in the run box, wait for the scan to finish, click "Save all information," and save the file to your desktop.  From there, you can attach it to a reply using the paper clip (Attachment) icon included with the other formatting buttons.

If the new folder does work, copy one of your existing saves to that folder and test it too.

Thanks for your help but that didn’t work and I’m doing this from my iPhone so I can’t attach the dxdiag ☺️

  • Mini-toes123  Okay, but you can login to this site from your computer, right?  I do need to see a dxdiag to look for reasons why the game might be crashing.

Is the Clean uninstall going to delete my saves and sims in the gallery because those are really important to my and I already lost them once (also going to have to do it tomorrow because I have a bed time that I’m passed🥱)

  • Mini-toes123  No, a clean uninstall is only supposed to remove the game's program files, as in, what the EA App installs.  The instructions in the guide I posted also explain how to make sure your user data doesn't get deleted at the same time.  It shouldn't be necessary, but better to be safe than sorry.  And none of this has anything to do with the Gallery, which is hosted on EA servers, not on your computer.  Your Library IS on your computer, in the Tray subfolder, but that's part of the user data you'll be protecting before you start.

Does this mean that removing ALL your mods didn't help?  Again, the errors in your dxdiag are most often mod-related, so that's the first thing to try.

I’m sorry I can’t do that last time I did that it messed up my game do u have any other suggestions 🙃 sorry again

  • Mini-toes123  My current two suggestions are to remove your entire Mods folder and repair the game (again), and to do a clean uninstall of the game.  You can also try playing in a new, local, admin Windows account.  Local in this case means not linked to your Microsoft account or any email address.

If you can't do any of these things, then I can't help you.  It would be a waste of your time and mine to try other approaches because these are the most likely to fix the problem.  If the problem would be addressed by one of these steps, it's not going to be fixed by a different approach, so the effort would be wasted.
