Build Mode Floor-Installing Glitch? (Sims 4)

I'm making my Sim an addition to his house. Trying to make a second floor, and it's not working. I think the game isn't recognizing it as a member of the grid honestly, based on how it's acting.. I'll try to place a floor tile, and it'll basically just ignore it's existence. It edits the first floor, not the second. Along with this, I can't edit or place tile unless it was randomly added. (For some unknown reason, when I built walls, a few minutes after I place the walls, concrete flooring appears as roofing/ceiling placement.) Just wondering if this is a glitch or something wrong with my game individually.

  • And you are sure that you are on the second floor ?

Are you using mods or cc in your game ?

I'm on the 2nd floor, I know because I always build with my Grid turned on. And no, I'm not using Mods/CC, there's none installed atm. Haven't been on a download site in months.

Bit of a late reply, sorry for that. I just found your question when searching aswers for it myself.

I had this same problem, although sometimes when I added a second floor it actually gave me the base-floor and sometimes not. When trying to make a sort of inside-the-house balcony (don't know what they're called, blast this language!) and I figured out you can add as much floor and in whatever shape you like with the sort of porch/foundation tool you can find in the same place as the wall tools. If you drag that to cover the whole room you want floored it actually doesn't make a porch but instead a normal floor base. Hope this helps!
