@DigitalEntity404 and @ohkay1209 Thank you both for the dxdiags, which show the Sims 4 errors but not why they're happening. Do you have any files in ConfigOverride? If so, please remove them.
If that doesn't help or isn't relevant, does this issue happen when you're building on a blank lot in a new save? Please try it and let me know. Don't add an existing build from your library or the Gallery, as these may be broken.
If that doesn't help either, please try playing in a clean user folder. Move the entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop, and when you launch the game, a clean folder will spawn with no content. (Your saves and other content will be intact in the folder you moved but temporarily not read by the game.) Don't add anything to the new folder yet; just start another new save and repeat the test.
