Build mode/game play crash

Help! I'm experiencing issues with Build Mode, where only one action can be performed before subsequent actions stop working. Then when I try to save or exit the game, it does not save so I have to force end it. I also do not have mods/cc installed. I have attached my dxdiag info.

    anmido  Does this happen on multiple lots, in different worlds?  Please test at least a couple default EA-made lots, or blank lots, and let me know.  If every lot you test in one save is affected, test a new save as well.  This sometimes happens because the build is corrupt, not the game itself.

    There's nothing in your dxdiag that stands out, although your graphics driver is a bit old.  It should still work fine though.

    It worked! I tested/played two default EA-made lots in the same save and buy/build mode were working. Then I switched to my own game (with CC lot, sorry for the confusion) and they buy/build mode worked perfectly! Is this the usual work-around or would this just be a temporary fix?

    anmido  I honestly don't know whether this would be a temporary or permanent fix.  This issue seems to have multiple causes, and sometimes the only solution is deleting the lot in question.  I hope that's not the case for you though.
