Camera controls (rotate and tilt) not working properly

I use a mouse and the Sims 3 camera for my game, but today my camera controls aren't working properly. I usually use the mouse wheel to rotate and tilt the camera but that function has stopped working, everything else seems fine. I only played a day or 2 ago and it was working normally. The mouse itself is working the same as usual outside of Sims. I've looked through the camera settings in game but nothing is different. I've restarted the game and tried different saves but still the same problem.

Have I done something in my settings without realising? Has the game updated in the last 24h without me knowing? It's very frustrating and I can't get used to using the keyboard keys to rotate and tilt the camera. 

How can I get the tilt and rotate function back when using the mouse wheel?

No mods or CC installed.

    @isalou-x UPDATE: I tried a new mouse and it worked perfectly... turns out my old mouse's wheel wasn't working properly! And adjusting the settings fixed the glitchy screen. So the original issue wasn't a problem with the game at all 🤦🏽‍♀️

    @isalou-x  Try switching to the Sims 4 camera and back, quitting the game in between.  If that doesn't help, please go into Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3 and move options.ini to the desktop.  This will reset all your in-game settings, so if it doesn't help either and you don't want to redo all those, you can trash the new copy of options.ini and put the old one back.

    Please also let me know what keyboard layout you use and if you ever use a different one.

    I switched the camera and restarted like you asked, no difference. I've taken out the Options file and it played Sims 3 music upon startup?? And still the camera controls didn't work. I exited the game, put the file back in the folder and it's still playing Sims 3 music. And the camera still isn't working!! The screen is also very glitchy so somehow I've made it worse!

    I use a box standard UK qwerty keyboard on a laptop, always used the same one.

    It happened after the latest update but I'd played the day before (After the update) without any issues.

    I uninstalled and reinstalled the game but still the same issues!

    Thank you for the instructions on switching to the Sims 4 camera. I did what you said too, but when I switched back to the Sims 3 camera, I still couldn't rotate or tilt anything. When I keep it on the Sims 4 camera I'm able to rotate and tilt. The issue with not being able to rotate or tilt just started happening in Dec 2021. I don't know why all of sudden we can't use rotate and tilt using the Sims 3 camera.
