can i delete the game and keep my progress?

I need more space on my laptop for school stuff, and sims 4 is currently taking up 19GB.

If I (temporarily) delete the game, will EA save my progress and my expansion packs? Will my progress be saved to my account for when I redownload it or will I lose everything? I really need more space on my laptop and Sims is taking up way too much space 🤔

  • @emthejem  Any packs you've bought are owned by your account, not your computer, so yes, they'll be available for you to reinstall, for free, whenever you're ready.

Your saves and other user data are stored in Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4, and if you delete this folder, that data is gone.  EA doesn't upload Sims 4 saves to cloud storage.  But you can move this folder to an external drive or USB stick, or upload it to a free filesharing service like Google Drive or Dropbox.  If you do upload it, zip it first: right-click and select Send to > Compressed (.zip) file.  Or you can leave this folder in place if it's not taking up too much space.
