My Origin shows both versions (NVM the Play Pro thing) but you should have both the Sims 4 and the Sims 4 Steam. DLC from Origin should work with the Steam version but DLC on Steam does not work with the Origin Version.
When I tested this when it first came out, it would always launch the version I've installed last. So if I installed Steam last, it launched the Steam version even if I clicked on the Origin Version (you can tell by turning off Steam, then starting the game. If Steam starts, it's the Steam version, if not, it's the Origin Version).
I will do some testing tomorrow to see if anything changed
- 5 years ago@crinrict Oh okay, I'll try again to see if it's working. Since last time I launched it at origin version but it only had the dlc items I got from origin even though the dlc from steam was downloaded. I also tried to launched at steam but it also didn't have the dlc I have In origin. If it's still okay for you and all your dlc items are still there then I'll try a few more times to check the problem and if the problems continues then I'll just refund it since I feel like it might be my computer that's a problem.

Started the game through steam .. no DLC .. went into Origin and redownloaded some of the packs for testing. They do show up on both of my tiles to re-download.
After that they showed up.
Did you ever redownload them through Origin after installing Steam ? - crinrict5 years agoHero+
@jarzzie Yeah, Steam DLC doesn't work on Origin, that's how it is. If you have Steam DLC, you need to run the Steam Version.
At this point, I think the best you can do is the following
1. Backup your user files found in Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4
2. Uninstall both Origin and Steam version with all DLC (so that there's nothing Sims 4 left on your computer)
3. Reinstall the Steam Version with all it's content, then start it on Steam.
4. Your Origin DLC will be missing, so after starting the game, close it down and start Origin (Steam still running).
5. Go to the tile of the Steam Game on Origin (if you have that, otherwise just use the Sims 4 one on Origin) and start installing the DLC you have on Origin.
6. After that is done, start the game through Steam.7. If you now have your packs, move the backups of your user folder back in case your saves don't show up anymore.
For me, the packs I installed (one Content from Steam, 3 from Origin) showed up in my game.
