Can I uninstall The Sims 4 Legacy Edition?

Hey guys,

Recently I was forced to install The Sims 4 Legacy Edition and I know for a fact that my PC runs on a 64-bit operating system. I've tried repairing the game on Origin and changing my game to run on 64-bit however, when I opened that tab it said my game was already running on a 64-bit when I was expecting it to say 32-bit. I can open my game just fine with Legacy Edition installed, but I don't understand why I need Legacy Edition when I'm running on a 64-bit computer. I have custom content in my game and whenever I enable cc, my game won't open and it takes me to the Origin app and tells me to download Legacy Edition when it's already installed. I would love to know if there's any way to uninstall Legacy Edition because I love playing with custom content and I would like to have to option to buy future packs. I have spent a lot of money on this game and would be very sad to see it go down the drain.

Are you on Mac or PC?
If you are on PC Windows you can uninstall Legacy Edition and force the game to use a 64-bit startup. Origin calls to install Legacy Edition on Win7, Win8, Win8.1 but if your hardware is good enough you don't have to do it. However, in this case, you have to think about a quick change to Win10, because Microsoft is ending support these systems.

Unfortunately, this doesn't apply to Mac. You must download and install the Sims 4 Legacy Edition if you are running a Mac that does not support Metal.

Edit: To get rid of Legacy Edition you need to uninstall the game and download it once more without LE

    I don't work for EA

  • @kreatora but my mac does support metal so why do I have to have legacy edition. This is really a waste of almost $100.
