Can Sims 4 be played without being online?

Finally sorted the installing the game issue but when I click the desk top icon to play origin opens so need to be on line. I thought this game could be played off line? If so how can I do this? Tha...

You do need to be running Origin and you have to be online when first logging in to Origin, but you don't have to be online to play. Just place Origin in Offline Mode (top left Origin menu) and make sure not to completely exit Origin and you should be good to go even without an internet connection.
