BonnieAngel Please try standard windowed mode and let me know whether it works. Please also provide a dxdiag, as described above.

I've tried all that.
I did find a fix though. I went into my sims folder in documents and opened the Options.ini and searched for Fullscreen: 1 and changed it to 0 and then i searched for WindowedFullscreen: 0 and changed it to 1 and saved the changes and it loaded up my game fine with no crashes!
