Cannot launch Sims 4

Thanks for this. It's been over 2 weeks now since I've been unable to get into game, so I'll give this a try. (When my husband can help; he speaks tech.) But what I don't understand is how the configuration of my computer is suddenly at issue when it's been set up the same way since it came out of the box eighteen months ago and I never had a problem playing. But I do appreciate your help.
Well, puzzlezaddict, We gave your advice a jolly good go and I can still not get into game. Thanks a lot for your kind efforts to help. EA knows this is a problem and obviously don't care to address it. Quite disheartened but you are great.
