I play on PC and my sims is up to date.
The screenshot attached is what comes up when I try to turn on my sims.
It roughly translates to
"Error
Unable to find the specific file"
@Aesteq_ I've merged your post with the master thread for this issue. There are some suggestions you can try in this thread, and the error appears to be mostly or entirely related to security software, so start there.

Hi everyone,
As already said before, I've got the same problem as you. I've tried to make an exception with the launching file of The Sims4 in my antivirus Avast. It worked two days... then I have the same issu today (file not found etc.). I have tried to disable Avast. Same problem. So I have made a reparation of my game via EA App. It is a long process and I am fed up with doing it several times a week. Please EA, find us a solution !
As said before, I play on PC, via the EA App, no mods installed, Avast antivirus (which never created problems with my game before).
Thanks for your help.

I’ve had this issue for the past few days but I’ve managed to get mine working, not sure for how long it will though.
I deleted The Sims 4 app (not the EA app) from my laptop and reinstalled it & all my packs, now it works.
Try this if you haven’t already, I hope this will work for you all too!

I will try it. Do you mean that you have uninstalled the game from your computer, not from the EA App ?
By doing so, have you lost your saves ?
Thanks for your help !
