I played the Sims 2 days ago, all good. I hadn't played for a while, so there were a few upgrades to install. I tried to play last night but was given a white box with "the system cannot find the file specified". Tried the app again and suggested it just needed repaired, but it was stuck on a never-ending repair loop before landing on another issue box " There's a problem with your security permissions." The only changes to the system have been the Sims upgrades.
I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the EA app, to be told it needed repairs before working again. Sims 4 is still asking for the repair loop of doom. I suspect the next thing is to uninstall The Sims from my computer, but question: will my game play still be on the EA app, or will I lose everything?
Any help, advice etc much appreciated.

I played the sims 2 days ago and I'm having a similar experience I uninstalled and reinstalled, but the game just circles and doesn't load up. It says that I have to go to game hub and update the sims but there isn't any update showing

Same. Checked windows permissions, all good. Changed my internet connection to a stronger one, nothing changed. The game keeps getting repaired over and over again. It keeps repairing 21.78 gb and once its done it starts again repairing the same 21.78 gb.

Hey! I enabled the DirectX 11 and the game launched all of a sudden. If you haven't tried that yet, do give it a try it might work!

How do you do this?

In the end I bit the bullet and completely uninstalled, then reinstalled Sims 4 (which took 4.5 hours! lol). All data was kept on the cloud, it appears, so I have been able to carry on like I hadn't been away. Very annoying glitch, though, and seemed to have been started with the latest update.
