Cannot play Sims 4 it keeps crashing

Hello

I have a problem with Sims 4, bought it on amazone, recieved yesterday and installed then began to play today.

First all seemed ok I could create 2 sims but as soonas I began to play with them the game began crashing. I can play from 10 sec to 10 min depending but never more than that before it crashes.

I tried playing another family (premade) same thing happened.

My graphic driver is up to date, my computer is way above the minimal required, I tried with Origin online, tried with it offline, I stopped all background programs even my antivirus/firewall and nothing helped.

It's extremely frustrating, hope somone can help.

Just in case I tried running with a Clean Boot as advised in another similar post and it didn't change anything, also my computer doesn't overheat (saw that question too) max temperature inside the case at max charge is around 40 degrees celcius, my GPU may go to 50 but nothing more.

I tried with origin ingame activated as well as desactivated (default for me) and it still crashed.

As asked below I also tried in windowed mode at the lowest resolution and it didn't help either.

    Have you tried playing the game in windowed mode, with a lower resolution? You can adjust these settings in the Game Options.

    With the computer I have it should't change anything I still tried it and it crashed in 5 seconds (windowed mode, lowest resolution possible and laptop mod activated)

    Do you get any errors when it crashes or does it just crash to your desktop? And is your operating system up to date?

    I also see that you save your games to the D drive. Is that a SSD?

    Regarding the message  it's just the sims 4 has stopped working and then the desktop.

    As for the drive it's an HDD , my C drive is an SSD but it only has my system on it. the "My Documents folder is also on D so the saves are on the same drive than the game as well as origin, no possible conflict there.

    Missed your question (oops) but my answer is in the post just above, Origin and the game are on the same drive

    Anyway seeing that there is a big number of people having problems with  the game crashing I'm waiting for a fix from EA, otherwise I'll ask for a refund and be done with it.

    My computer doesn't have any problem dealing with Sims 3 all the add ons and around 5gb of custom content, so sims 4 not working ? certainly not my problem my comuter is fine and the game is installed properly.

    Hey as I said both Origin and the game on my HDD drive, the SSD only has the system and some very demanding games (Sims 3 for example).

    I also don't have any CC  (just on case someone would wonder) and the game rases so quickly (like I can't play more than 2 to 3 min) so I'll try that solution but I'm afraid it'll crash before I get a chance to do it.

    Would that be D or E ? you only said they were on the same drive, not which one 🙂

    Oh sorry I always forget as it's the same physical disk 😛

    It's in D where I still have enough free space left (at least 40% at all times), I lknow windows doesn't like it when you don't have enough free room left on the disk while running an application.

    I just managed to "solve" my problem if you can call it that as I never found out why it didn't work int he first place.

    Anyway just to see what would happen I installed the game on my gaming laptop (older and less powerful than my computer, Nvidia GPU with an older driver at that, I don't use the laptop much anymore) and there it worked, not a crash, not a glitch even with the older driver.

    I then copied the Sims 4 folders (the one with the game under program fiels and the one with the saves and so on under my documents) and pasted them on my other computer prompting to replace what it wanted and incredible but true it worked, the game doesn't crash anymore on my newer computer.

    So thanks for all the advice, and I hope this can help some people even tough it doesn't explain why it crashed in the first place or what made it work in the end.
