Cannot Propose

Hi, I'm writing this because I cannot find a single fix to my problem. My two sims have a full love bar and the option to propose comes up,but when I click it they stand there for a second then the thing gets cancelled. It's like the sims reset. Please if any of you have any idea on how to fix this please let me know.
