@itskachhh Does this happen with all saves, or only the one you're currently playing? Please test a new save for comparison's sake if you haven't already, and do so on a default EA lot with new sims (nothing from the Gallery on either count) in a base game world.
If OneDrive is running on this computer, whether you deliberately use it or not, please pause syncing. You can do so by clicking the cloud icon in the lower-right corner of the screen; if you don't see it, click the ^ icon.
Otherwise, if the new save is affected too, try playing with your computer offline. You can sign into the EA App and put it in offline mode, then disable wifi and/or disconnect the ethernet cable before pressing Play.
@puzzlezaddict It happens with other saves as well, unfortunately, so I cannot make progress anywhere. I tried to play with your suggestion to go offline and it did not work. The game is still stuck on the saving screen and I have to force quit it.
Are there other steps I could do since this doesn't work?

@itskachhh Please try playing in a clean user folder. Move the entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop, and when you launch the game, a clean folder will spawn with no content. (Your saves and other content will be intact in the folder you moved but temporarily not read by the game.) Don't add anything to the new folder yet; just start a new save and see whether you can save your progress.
If this doesn't help, please try playing in a new admin Windows account. Make it local, as in, don't link it to your Microsoft account. You'll be able to launch Sims 4 without reinstalling anything. Here again, start a new save and see whether you can save your progress. This is more of a test than a fix, to see whether the problem is limited to your account (e.g. a permissions issue with the Documents folder) or more global.

@puzzlezaddict Thank you for the suggestion! I moved the entire Sims 4 folder and started new - it worked! As in, I could save the newly started game. What do I do now though because I wish to play my own built sims and world I've had? Any suggestions for the next steps?

@itskachhh Try copying your old save, but nothing else yet, to the new folder, and see whether you can save your progress. Since you're copying rather than moving the file, you don't need to worry about missing content or anything else you do as an experiment. Try both "save" and "save as."

So thankfully it worked to slowly play with a new game and incorporate the saves, then custom cc and all. I discovered, it was one cc that was making it problematic. However, now I have the issue where some households are stuck when I try to play them. The loading screen just keeps on going. Is there another thread for this with some answers, or could someone please help here with this.

@itskachhh I can try to help, or ask someone else to if I don't know how to fix the issue. As a first step, please open Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 and delete any lastexception files you find. Try again to load one of the affected households and see whether you get a new LE. If you do, please open it and delete its first line, then attach it to a reply here.
If you get an error message when trying to load the household, please post a screenshot of that as well.
