If you have been there before just open the map and you can travel to the Hermit in the deeper woods.
If you are trying to find the entrance in Granite Falls Woods then it is a vine covered cave not the waterfall.
You could try using The Sims 3 or The Sims 4 camera, maybe that will help with zooming.

If you are talking about the Waterfall in the deeper woods the Hermits house is on the right you can not go further up from the waterfall as that is at the edge of the map.
