Can't Install Sims 4 from DVD with windows 8.1

Hi.  I've just got the Sims 4 for Christmas.  I have windows 8.1 and have the right system requirements as far as I know.   Everytime I click the icon for sims 4 (which is the dvd drive button), or ...

I switched it off and on several times and no joy.  Then completely uninstalled origin and installed it again and it seems to be working!

    same thing for me. total waste of xmas day tryingto get this carp to work.
