@hedelaerke Try removing Sims 4 and the EA App with Revo Uninstaller (the free version is fine). Before doing so, go into Documents > Electronic Arts and rename the Sims 4 folder to something that doesn't include "Sims 4," so Revo doesn't flag it for deletion. You can uninstall Epic with Revo as well, or just use the normal way if you prefer.
Reinstall the App, and reinstall Sims 4 from the App while Epic isn't present. If you still get the prompt to use Epic, let me know.
@puzzlezaddict this didn't work. I have also made a mistake when trying to figure this out and linked EA back to Epics Games before uninstalls. Now not only I can't launch the game and am getting error in EA app but also can't unlink Epic Games until 08/30/2024. Appreciate you trying to help, but is there any way to get actual EA support to look into this? I really don't want to wait until August to try to solve this again with risk of it not working and then waiting for another half a year.

Hey there @hedelaerke
If you've re-linked your account with Epic, we'll need to be sure that's fully removed from your account- we aren't able to help with unlinking here on the forums, but the live support team can take a look and help you remove Epic from your EA account.
Please submit a help request here to contact live support on this: https://help.ea.com/en/help/faq/using-ea-help/
Once Epic is unlinked, if you're wanting to play The Sims 4 via the EA app, you can claim the base game for free through the EA app directly.
