Solved

Can't locate item & can't stay connected online

So for a few weeks I have had this annoying issue which now give up to solve by all that I have read.

Somehow the new sims I create, it doesn't matter if I have mods or not, the new ones have te error: "can't locate item".

I do have noticed that I am also online when I enter the game if I use Origin. However, once the game has stared up and I click on gallery it always say I am not online.
But when I click on going online my laptop just connects right away. But if I created a new sim and start a new game...and click on that sim who is now in my gallery the same problem appears. Even though that I am "connected" at that time

I also can't upload any of my builds I made myself and during the game, the more Sims my Sim meets the more it becomes a bug in my game. The faces don't appear and the more players I have in my household (even just a cat haha) the objects have trouble loading in their own inventory. Even if just collected a fossil (for example)

I really don't know what to do

I did:

* Restarting the game

* Restarting my laptop

* Removing every mod/cc

* Removing every save

* Removing the Sims 4 complete

* Reinstalling them

* Removing the Sims 4 and creating a new one

* Removing Files that can be removed

* I checked the anti virus - no problem

So I really need a new idea, because I can't think if I named all the things I tried, but just totally (starting) over with your game seemed to me like the best thing which I could do, but that didn't work.

I hope someone can help me.

Oh and when I do connect to the gallery there no red errors and the other creation just seems fine. Until they get in my own gallery then they are all messed up.

  • @TheWeekndye  What antivirus do you use?  Is it possible you have more than one installed, for example perhaps your system came with one pre-installed?  I ask because the symptoms you're describing are typical of an antivirus issue.  Please see this thread for more details:

    The fact that you need to manually connect to the Gallery is by design.  This changed a few patches ago to lessen the load on EA servers and make the Gallery more responsive for those actually using it.

    Omg, I did check that as well. But After your reply deleted the virus app and replaced it! And now it works!

    Thank you so much! ❤️

    I am currently having the same problem, and tech support says it's a known issue and they're "working on fixing it". That was a month ago... The antivirus fix didn't work for me, so I must ask: have any other fixes been found that you know of?

    @jadsiasun96  Are you having both issues, or just one?  The Gallery now drops inactive connections—I think the time limit is 15 minutes—and it doesn't connect unless you manually choose to do so.
