Can't open Save Files On New Laptop

I was unable to copy the entire documents folder of The Sims 4 as I didn't have a big enough pen drive, but also it was taking DAYS to transfer anything across due to how rubbish my old laptop was. I moved the saves file along with the tray and added it to where it should be on the new laptop however the game still won't play my saves and it's like I'm starting the game again. Any advice?
