CANT PLAY A HOUSEHOLD

When I launch the sims 4 to play everything is fine but when I go to the map to select the household i wanna play, it doesn't let me! I can't play any of my sims! When i press play to play that household the loading screen appears but then it just goes black and shuts down. Allows me to create sims and build buildings but no game play! I've had this problem for a couple days now. Never had any problems with the game until a couple days ago. Started when I downloaded and installed the new sims get to work game. I've tried, restarting my computer, uninstalling origin and reinstalling origin, uninstalling the sims 4 and reinstalling it and also reloaded my games on origin. NOTHING WORKS!! Another odd thing that I've experienced is that every time I launch the sims 4 and then exit out of the game and then shut down my computer it says that origin is preventing the computer to shut down so it always force shut downs. Also everytime I click on Origin it says it is updating, this could happen 10 times in a row if i keep clicking it even though it says updated and ive let the update run. Have contacted origin and asked for a call back but nothing. Do you think that has anything to do with it? Anything else I should try? If you know for sure how to fix this please tell me!!!!!! I don't care about losing my saved games I just wanna be able to play again!

  • Hi there!

Has this started recently? As in you have played fine before now in households or is this the first time playing the game?

Black screen freezes and white screen freezes can be due to graphical problems. Are your computer and graphics specifications at the required levels to play the game? Check them out here:

Do you play full screen mode? In some cases like yours playing in windowed mode can solve the issue.

To play in windowed mode go to the in game menu. Then go to “Game Options”, and then go to “Graphics"
In the Graphics section there should be a display option . Set this to Windowed.
You can also try turning off post proccesing effects in the Graphics menu and see if that helps.
