Hi. I have contacted EA support three times now because I have the same problem, not only on my desktop but laptop as well. The sims 4 is downloaded but it says an update is required. Which I get a download error message and to try again. I'm starting to get frustrated as I have been unable to play since the switch from Origin. For some reason the third person I talked to from EA support told me to post my question here, but I see there has been no help either.

@ashjoeksa Please clear the EA App's cache:
https://help.ea.com/en/help/faq/clear-cache-to-fix-problems-with-your-games/
then repair the game: open My Collection, hover over the Sims 4 icon, click the three dots, and select Repair. Then try to update again if required.
- 3 years ago@puzzlezaddict Hi Thanks for the reply. Problem is when I click the three dots on the sims 4 icon the only 2 options are "Loading" which is greyed out and "manage add ons" which just list the DLC I've bought with "Loading" greyed out next to each one. There's no option to repair in there.

@puzzlezaddict Thank you, I have cleared cache and tried the repair before. I did uninstall and am currently reinstalling, hoping that'll work. I will have to see, will let everyone know if it does.
- 3 years ago@ashjoeksa Any luck yet mate?

@grv0eczqztr9 The reinstall worked. Haven't tried it on my laptop because I'm just ready to play but I don't see any issues.
