Cant raise house or place faundation

When I click on the foundation option, the thing thats supposed to appear beside the foundations (where you can decide how much the house shall raise), doesnt appear. I tried to build on another lot, but it did not work then either. Also tired to delete everything but its still not working. I tried bulldozing, but dont understand how. I also use a Mac, dont know if that have someting to do whit it.
