torimod Please put the game into windowed mode and see whether that helps.
If it doesn't, or you want to keep using fullscreen mode, disable any apps you use that come with overlays: Steam, Discord, etc. Disable the EA App in-game overlay as well, under Settings > Application.
If that doesn't help either, please open Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 and move Options.ini to the desktop. This will reset all your in-game options; you can restore your old Options.ini later if you want and if this doesn't help. First though, see how the game behaves with all default settings.
