Cc folder and accidently deleted my sims four game

Hi! I am a huge fan of the sims four, and a couple of days ago I got some great cc in my game. It worked perfectly, then a windows update happened, all my save files deleted and my cc was showing up in the folder but in game it did not. I looked up forums, I did what it said, remove the mods and cc, then delete and re-install the game. Then I added back the cc, it didn't show up. Then I looked up some more info, I tried it, and guess what, it didn't show up. I deleted my resource folder like told so on the forums. I couldn't get it back so I ended up trying to repair the game, still didn't show back up. I deleted the game and spent hours slaving over the screen, waiting about eight hours to get it back, turns out that did nothing, then I turned to mod the sims, who had the resource.cfg folder, put in my sims 4 folder, I didn't know if it worked though because I can't even get mods to work. Still listening to forums, I deleted the sims 4 folder and guess what after trying to repair it again the folder still didn't show up, now I am so confused about what to do. I have spent three days trying to get cc back in my game. Please help me! I NEED CC

  • Do you still have your original saved games and CC/Mods? Please do note that some Mods and CC no longer work correctly when the game is updated due to changes in the game code itself.

That being said, here's the easiest thing to try first. Locate your Sims 4 folder that houses your Saved games. (Documents > Electronic Arts >Sims 4). Move that entire folder to your desktop and start up the game. Do not add back the CC or mods yet. Make sure that the game starts up fine and start a new game. Play for about an hour or so allow the game to regenerate the data for the Sims 4 folder and to insure that your Vanilla game is working correctly. Save that game (to make sure the game saves correctly) and then install just a few pieces of CC at a time. This will help you narrow down what is causing your game to not launch properly. Once you have reinstalled your CC and mods and know that the game is working fine, you can add back your saved game by simply switching out the Saves folder.

  • Everytime your game updates, mods will be disabled (aka CC) If you go into the options/settings ingame you could have enabled them, and then restart. Don't delete your game XD

  • I know this was three years ago but the same thing happened to me did you every get your game working agian and if so how plz reply and i did what that other palyer said to do but it did not work

I guess you double checked that script mods and cc were activated in the game options? Both of them?

And then you have mods that do not work? All mods or just some? If it's just some mods that do not work, which ones?

If no mods show up in your game

    • Did you place them in C:\Users\Username\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\Mods
    • Do the game register that there are mods? Do they show up in the list in the beginning or if you open the mods list from the options menu?
    • Do you have OneDrive on your computer? Make sure that the game is not using the OneDrive-folders. Try turning off OneDrive before starting the game.

You can check where the game saves your files by looking in your Game Options - Screen Capture settings.

Make sure that the path above is the same place as where you have your saves and mods.
