CC in mods folder but not showing up in game

HELP!

After the most recent update, my cc/mods have not been reading in-game. I checked the box that says enable mods after updating, all my cc is in my mods folder with the resource.cfg file and there are no subfolders. I have been looking for hours trying to troubleshoot but I can't figure out why my cc won't show up in-game. When I open my game I have it set to show my cc at startup but there's never anything there despite it being in my mods folder. If anyone can figure out what I'm doing wrong I'd be eternally grateful, this is really frustrating!!

Probably more files are damaged in the game folder.
Step 1. Fix the game in Origin
    Origin/ My games library - right-click on TS4 - option "Repair game"
Step 2. Rename The Sims4 folder to "The Sims4 old"
Step 3. Turn on the game - a new game folder will be created and you will have two - one old, one new
Step 4. Check if you still have this problem in the newly created game folder. Start a new game with random sims and play by 2 minutes.
Step 5. Delete in the new game folder following folders:
    "saves" and Tray.
Step 6. Go to "The Sims 4 old" folder and copy - your "saves " folder.
Step. 7. Paste this folder in a newly created game folder.
Step 8. Do the same with Tray folder and TrayDeleteItems file
Step 9. Check if there are newly updated version mods you are using.
Then copy and paste your mods and CC from the old mods folder to the new one. First copy the scripts mods every time checking if the game is working properly. If you have a lot of CC try 50/50 method ( divide your CC into smaller batches for example 50 pieces in one subfolder and check these subfolders one by one)
Step. 10. Launch the game and check if this problem disappeared.
The last step - delete The Sims4 old folder.

Your saves and library will be not changed or damaged

Check if the "Options" file in the game folder doesn't have the "read-only" attribute set, right-click on it and select Properties.
If it has, uncheck it and click OK if it doesn't help, remove it completely.

    I don't work for EA
  • So I went to the options file and changed it from read-only to read and write, I added a few CC item to my mods folder then I opened my game to see if they were being read and they weren't. I went to delete the options folder entirely, opened my game again with the same CC in the mods folder and it still wasn't working...

  • I repaired and then renamed the sims 4 file to sims 4 old and opened the game, can't find the new sims 4 file.

  • Thank you so much!! I found the new game and followed all the steps above and now my CC is showing up.
