combining 2 apartments into one large apartment

I am wanting to know if its possible to combine 2 apartments that are next door to one another into one large apartment. I like the place that my current family lives, but need more space for when they have children.

I know in Sims 3 you could play around and do it, but I haven't found a way to do it (if possible) in the Sims 4.
