Connected laptop to TV 4 sims. Sound thru tv wrks for everything but sims game..

Im attempting to hook up my HP laptop to my tv via HDMI so I can see what its like to play the sims that way in a more relaxed state. Until today I was having issues getting the sound to play out of my TV speakers instead of my laptop speakers. Well I figured it out just about 20 mins ago and sound was coming out of my TV when I was using the internet or playing videos, but as soon as I open my game of the sims 4 the sound cuts out and I cant hear anything out of my TV nor my Laptop. Has anyone happened to try this and figured out the issue? I already have my TV as my default audio setting in my control panel and I searched through all the settings inside the sims 4. If anyone can help me with this I would very much appreciate it. Thanks guys, Happy gaming!
