Connectivity Issue Sims 4

Is anyone else having an issue going online to access the gallery? I'm logged in to my Origin Account and my internet connection is fine, however the game seems to think otherwise. Just wondering if this is a problem on their side of things.

  • There are a lot of posts about this the last few days. But the server status is up and running.

That's good to know... kind of haha...

That doesn't necessarily mean there are no issues though right? Possibly in game? (I'm not clued up on this kind of thing, just wanting to know what's up for this to happen so suddenly when there are no changes my end! ☹️ )

There are many things that can cause loss of connectivity. Over loaded server(s). Loss of connectivity of the server(s) to the isp (a local router issue maybe). A dns issue. Most companies that anticipate heavy activity have server farms - multiple servers connected sharing the same data. Making a server farm work correctly can get complicated. One of the servers may crash causing the whole site to go down. Someone doing maintenance may remove the wrong data cable accidentally (ok I'll go along with accidentally - it happens). The company's isp may have problems routing. The internet uses tcp/ip which in my opinion is fragile but works. By the time someone realizes there is an issue, troubleshoots the problem, the fix is usually quick and everything is working again before a reason can be issued (wake up someone in the it department and then find the data cable that got unplugged). Many companies today contract out their i.t. department. To get someone to troubleshoot the issue can get complicated which creates new issues. After all the above have been eliminated then you have to check your own isp, then your computer, then the software. There are programs like ping and tracert that can quickly isolate the problem. hth

I spoke to live chat went through uninstalling origin running cc cleaner reinstalling origin, unticking numerous boxes running as admin and deleting options files out of ea documents worked after 1 hour of  umming lets try this finally working went to reconnect again after closing to say yes it worked and blow me down no connection, interesting thing is they are having technical issues with live chat themselves so honestly think it is a waiting game

There are some issues with the Gallery, The Sims team is aware of it. Try opening en closing the gallery a few times.

    Hello,

I red the other similar questions, but there was no answer for me: could somebody please help?

The point is that today I can't go online in TS4! My internet is fine, everything works, but TS4 keeps saying me I'm offline...I know somebody solved this issue by downloading CAS Demo, but I already have it...

I'm really disappointed because my game is original and I did pay for it ☹️

Thanks guys, I tweeted them and they replied a while after saying they were undergoing maintenance so online features would be down for a while 🙂
