so i got a new pc as my old one blue screened on me and fully died. so today i restarted my sims world. in build mode it was fine. was able to play for hours while building. soon as i got on to gamep...

Yes, crashes can be due to overclocking, but that's not something you'd do by accident. It's of course possible that the company that assembled your computer overclocked the CPU, so please let me know where you bought it.

@christopld56 Your dxdiag shows a few errors related to the Nvidia graphics driver. Since you already have the most recent driver, you'll need to do a clean uninstall and reinstall. Here's how:
Download a fresh copy of the newest driver directly from Nvidia:
https://www.nvidia.com/Download/driverResults.aspx/187098/en-us
When installing the driver, run it as an admin: right-click on the download and select "Run as administrator." Restart your computer after it's done and before trying to play.
If you still have crashing issues, please post a fresh dxdiag.
