Did you move any files over from your old computer from the start ? Like save games ?

That's a good question. I did copy the same saved files over BUT it was after I tried to create from the fresh install. ☹️( So I installed it on this new machine, ran it, tried to create a family and save them to gallery and it was frozen just the same as before. So then I transferred all my saved files over. Still did the same thing.
