Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? I have all the packs for Sims4
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? All
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Well you can't since the game doesn't open. You're the computer nerds, you figure it out.
What happens when the bug occurs? I updated the game and now it won't open. Continuously tells me to update and then tells me it's updated. I hit play and it tells me to update and this goes on and on. FIX IT!
What do you expect to see? the game without having to uninstall and reinstall AGAIN and lose all progress like I did with the previous update. I have played SIMS for years and with the HUNDREDS of dollars I've spent, I expect to be able to at least play!!!
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Never used.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Yes
Please describe the patch or change you made. The last one. Don't know exactly what was in it because it's NEVER OPENED!!!
Game won't load
- 5 years ago@shastel64 Have you tried repairing your game in Origin by right-clicking it and choosing "Repair Game" (or something like that)? 😯 I play on Xbox so I don't know if that'll help, I just know from reading other posts that repairing the game can sometimes fix problems you're having in-game, but I don't know about it fixing the type of problem you're having. ☺️

Just wanted to say when I updated my game, I ran into this issue again. I had tried just running Origin as Administrator.
Clearing the Origin Cache files did the trick, though! 🙌
Two things that need to be noted, though: you must kill the OriginWebHelperService process in Task Manager (in Windows 10; don't know about Mac, but crinrict's page about clearing the cache links to a page dedicated to that) to delete the ServiceLogs, and you have to redo your Application Settings afterwards, including the location of your Origin Games folder and disabling automatic game updates.
