This started happening when I try to play out of nowhere. I have my game installed on Steam, I've reinstalled it twice it didn't work, I've tried putting in -dx9 and -dx11 into the steam box under properties but thats supposed to be for the EA app, I've "verified the integrity of the game files" through Steam and it seemed fine. I do have a few mods but none that are new since this happened I believe. My guess is I accidentally deleted a neccesary file, but if thats the case I'm confused on why reinstalling it hasn't worked. So, I just have no clue what to do. Plz help 😓
I was able to fix it by uninstalling it and then deleting the leftover "The Sims 4" folders (minus Tray, Saves, & Mods to save my progress), and then redownloading it on Steam and putting the Tray, Saves, & Mods folders back in. Installing it into a different drive also would work, I just did not have enough storage space on any other drive. Hope this helps anyone who stumbles upon it in the same boat I was in! 🙂

This is what has worked for me too. Seems the game is just absolutely bugged out like crazy lately
