@pwalshwaring First, let's make sure that the location of Documents is in fact no longer in OneDrive. Run a Windows search for Command Prompt, launch it, and copy and paste this command into the window:
reg query "HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Shell Folders" /v "Personal"
Please post the results.
@o0gabo0ga2 I've merged your post with the master thread for disappearing saves. Please see the first post on page one, particularly the "Recover missing saves" section and the "My saves aren't in OneDrive" section if necessary.
Hi, I've taken a screen snip of the dialogue box.
Also I was going off of the thread you linked me to, and copied the Sims 4 folder that is on my pc and pasted it to downloads, cause you said it wouldnt sync there.

@pwalshwaring Somehow you put your Documents folder inside OneDrive > Desktop, which was not the idea at all. I was saying that you could place a backup of the Sims 4 folder that contains your saves inside Downloads so it would be protected from deletion when you uninstalled the game.
At any rate, please follow this guide to changing the location of Documents, specifically part one:
If that doesn't help, use this guide to force the change:
In either case, the file path you want for Documents is this:
C:\Users\pheeb\Documents
with nothing else in it at all.

Hi, I follwed the instructions on the first link you posted and this is what happened. I think im probably making a meal out of this but I dont want to do something and then make the situation more complicated. Thanks so much for your help so far I hope its not too much of a bother
How should I proceed?

@pwalshwaring The error is probably because OneDrive is still running and protecting the contents of its folder. That's why I also linked the second way to change the location.
However, your screenshot lists this location:
C:\Users\pheeb\Documents Documents
with the extra space and Documents in the file path. That is probably not the reason you're seeing this error, but I wanted to point this out because for the second method, you absolutely need to get the location exactly right:
%USERPROFILE%\Documents
If there is a single extra character there, you could run into serious trouble. Editing the registry is a powerful intervention, for better and for worse. It's fine as long as you're precise, but it's unforgiving of errors.
