Stuck on loading into lot.

I have repaired the game, I have tried downgrading to dx9, I have removed mods- nothing gets the game to load. I have tried to use new saves.

My computer is updated.

It will play the load in music but just stay on the spinning plumbbob.

  • Danideejay  To be clear, you can't load into a lot in a new save when the lot in question is a default EA build?  If you haven't tried that, with your Mods folder removed, please do so now.

If that doesn't or didn't help, please provide a dxdiag.  Click Windows key-R, enter dxdiag in the run box, wait for the scan to finish, click "Save all information," and save the file to your desktop.  From there, you can attach it to a reply using the paper clip (Attachment) icon included with the other formatting buttons.

Thank you for taking the time to help me, Puzzle.

Default builds do not work. I even tried bulldozing or blank lots. It's any and all lots, unfortunately.
I have removed all mods to see if helped and it did not. Unfortunately it persisted.
Dxdiag is attached, hopefully you can make better sense of it.
All of my drivers are current- down to the BIOS.

  • Danideejay  As a test, please try playing in a clean user folder.  Move the entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop.  When you launch the game, a clean folder will spawn with no content.  (Your saves and other content will be intact in the folder you've moved but temporarily unread by the game.)  Don't add anything to the new folder yet; just start a new save and see if it works.

Your dxdiag lists one error that's definitely about the Nvidia graphics driver, and the Sims 4 errors could be driver-related too.  So if the clean folder doesn't help, I'd suggest doing a clean uninstall and reinstall of the driver.  Here's how:

Sorry for the late response I had a personal emergency and had to run to the dentist!
Thank you again for working with me, I know you're working hard. ⭐

Tried clean install first to no avail.
Reset my drivers per instruction, no success.
Should I try reinstalling the game entirely? How do I make sure that my event rewards stay? I did the three events in completion.

  • Danideejay  To be clear, the same issue happens in a new save, with fresh sims and default EA-made lots, nothing from the Gallery?  And it happens no matter what lot you try to load?

You can certainly try reinstalling the game if you want, and if you have the time.  It shouldn't do any harm.  I have other suggestions that I personally would try first, but you might not want to wait for my responses.  Reinstalling won't remove your rewards from the login events, which are tied to your account.

What I would like to know, before or after the reinstall, is whether the Sims 4 user folder is inside the OneDrive folder.  Here's how to find the exact location:

No onedrive here, I don't use it. The locations are set to the "Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\Screenshots"

As for the other stuff, I repeated the steps from yesterday and removed all the files to start vanilla again and this time it worked? Maybe the drivers didn't click last time. I reset the folders.

I was able to get into a lot. So now I'm thinking my sim files are corrupted due to the build up of everything. 😅
    Going to have to rebuild!

I think the final conclusion was that the drivers were corrupt and with the huge DX11 shift and mods it all kinda just caved under. I updated them to be compatible to dx11 but things can be finicky! Though, tbh this computer was a prebuild I ordered and it came with default drivers I've been having to manually install all of the correct stuff so who knows what's going on behind the scenes lmao 😭

I'm glad it's finally working however. I appreciate you taking the time to help me!
