Hello!
Yesterday, I tried to start the Sims 4 but immediately got a pop up saying that it can't launch due to missing or damaged game data. I play with mods so I typically know how to mitigate the damage when one messes up but this is the first time I've received this error. I had downloaded a few skin overlays and sliders just before starting so I immediately removed those. This didn't fix anything so I did some searching online and figured it might be my OneDrive not syncing properly. I disabled OneDrive, moved my game folder to my C drive and still nothing. I then made a backup of my saves, tray, mod, and the game folder itself on my desktop and decided to do a fresh install. The game did launch after that but I noticed that the game folder looked different than it had before. I attempted to move the mods folder back in and now the game won't launch again, same error, and this is after a second uninstall and reinstall. Fresh folder, no saves, no mods, nothing. I've repaired the game files, cleared the EA app cache, tried renaming the Sims 4 folder so it creates a new folder upon starting but nothing has worked. I'm not sure what to do know and I've attached screenshots of the error and the difference between the original game folder and the new one after the reinstall.
Your second screenshot shows The Sims 4 folder in program files, which is where the game's files are that you shouldn't ever touch or change.
The place where you find your saves, mods, etc is The Sims 4 folder in your DOCUMENTS folder. If that's still there and you have some outdated mod preventing the game loading, then reinstall won't change that, because it's just reinstalling all the game files in program files which aren't causing problems.
