Deleted CC is still available in game Sims 4

So I've been googling this and trying everyone's advice for fixing this, I've deleted all the mods from my folders, removed OneDrive, repaired the game in origin, literally all the advice that's online at the moment, I've done it and to no avail. Every time I go back into my game the deleted CC is still there. The only thing I can think of to try is completely uninstalling the game but I have no idea what that will do and if it will even work.

Please someone help me, there is clearly an issue with the CC in my game and it makes it so I can't add anymore CC.

Pleeeeease

  • HI @amilouise96 Maybe the quickest option is to turn off mods and cc in the settings menu of your game (I've never used onedrive etc) but if you're sure your folder is empty,

    • Documents > Electronic Arts > Sims 4 > Mods
    • Also, delete the localthumbcache.package file in the sims 4 folder

that is what I'd do; uncheck both of these boxes

    Hope this helps,

Move your mods folder to the desktop - it will for sure delete all CC and mods from your game.
Find and delete localthumbcache.package file in the game. Delete also all folders with the word "cache" in the name - important!
    Fix the game in Origin.
    Origin/Library - right-click on TS4 - option "Repair game"
You have to wait until Origin will fix all packs, not only the base game.
Turn on the game to create a new, empty mods folder and check if you still have CC.
Now you can copy from desktop your mods and CC and paste it in the new mods folder. First, paste script mods one by one every time checking if the game is OK.
Do the same with CC but if you have a lot of this, try the 50/50 method. divide your CC into smaller batches for example 50 pieces in one subfolder and check these subfolders one by one)

@myadrosa05  When this kind of thing happens, it almost always means that you're not removing the mods or custom content from the correct folder.  Whether that's because you're looking in OneDrive or you somehow have two Sims 4 folders on your hard drive, you'll need to find the folder the game is currently reading.

To do that, open a File Explorer window, click This PC in the left panel, and enter config.log in the search field in the upper right corner.  This may turn up a number of files; you're looking for the one inside a Sims 4 folder with a timestamp that matches the last time the game loaded (not when you quit, when you launched the game).  That file is inside the Sims 4 folder that is currently in use, and that's the folder you need to work with.

If you're not sure what you're looking at, feel free to post screenshots.
