Hello!

Once, awhile ago, i deleted my EA folder (no its not in my recycle bin). Ive tried everything ive seen to get it back. i tried unisntalling and reinstalling the game, i tried 'repairing' the game and the folder still isn't regenerating. I've tried everything i've seen, and more, and absolutly nothing is working. PLEASE send help, i really need the folder back. Thanks

  • Hello;

Are you talking about the EA folder from your Documents section in Windows?

If so, your options are limited.

An option you can attempt to use is "restore previous backups" by going to the Documents folder. Right-click on Documents, then select an earlier date. (Be warned, this may restart your computer.)

If this does not work, try an earlier date in the previous versions log; if none of these work, you can attempt to perform a System Restore. I would advise you not perform the steps below unless absolutely necessary; I also recommend if you do use it, you do so in short historical intervals. The more time between now and the date of the System Restore determines how much progress/data in between that time will be lost.

WARNING: Performing the steps below is a one-way trip; you will lose everything between the date of the System Restore Point and now if it wasn't on the computer originally. If you're not well-versed in the use of your PC, it is advised you have an experienced user perform these steps so as to avoid error.

    - Select "Start" on the Windows tray, then type "system restore." (You can also type "system" then select the "system restore" tab.)

    - Select "System Restore in the window that comes up.

    - Select Next, then select one of the System Restore Points that shows up in the list. (If no files show up, then the computer has never created a System Restore Point.)

    - You will receive one last warning that performing this restoration that it is not reversible; if you are certain, select "Restore." This will shut down your computer and begin the Restore Point process. (This can take a long time, depending on your computer speed and amount of files to restore.)

    - Once the computer finishes, navigate to where your files last were to see if they have returned.

    ------------------

I advise again that if you are concerned about the steps I provided, that you have a well-versed PC user go over the steps above; failure to follow these steps accurately can lead to permanent data loss on your computer.

(As always, be aware that I do not work for EA.)

  • I've reintalled and 'repaired' the game many times, and it did as the website you attached said to find the EA folder. My game told me that it was under documents as it should be, however when I open documents, it isnt there. Even when i go int othe search bar to search my whole computer for files, i search "Electronic Arts" and the only thing that shows up is a direct link to TS4 and origin, basically showing me the EA file seizes to exsist. Is it possible that i just cant find it still? or is my folder gone for good.

With what you've explained @JordanAshleighP , it sounds like what you're looking for are the Mods and additional folders that come with the Sims 4 Installation, correct?

To verify, the file path as written below:

    C:\Users\(UserName)\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4

If the folder was manually deleted, the only other thing I can recommend is to attempt to do a computer search on the name of any of the mods you might have had in the Mods folder, and see if you can find an instance of it that isn't in the Downloads folder; if you can, right-click on it and select "Open file location" and hopefully it will give you an idea of where it might have been relocated to if it wasn't deleted.

Aside from that, the suggestion I gave you would work, but as I mentioned earlier, I would only use that if you do not mind losing any progress or changes you've made between now and the time the folder was deleted. (Think of it like jumping back in time.)

Reinstalling the Game should bring back the folders, but they will be empty, since it would essentially be bringing the game back to factory settings.

  • I searched up the contents of the folder and found my EA and sims 4 folder, i put my mods into it and loaded the game, it showed my mods at start up but it didnt show anything in-game (yes i have mods and script mods on)

Do you have the file path where the EA and Sims 4 Folder ended up? Is it where I mentioned earlier in Documents?

You can get the file path by selecting the path field at the top of the window in an empty space; it'll be something like "C:\Users\etc..."
