Deleting files from Onedrive

I'm a brand new Windows 11 user and I'm still getting used to all the features. I had moved everything out of Onedrive because I was running out of space, and quickly discovered that I needed my sims stuff in it for my saves etc to be detected! I put them back in and the game works fine. However when my games starts and closes, I'm asked if I want to delete a huge amount of items from Onedrive. I don't know what they are or if I can delete them! I attach pictures of some of the file names. Any advice would be appreciated!

  • asthehind  Anything thumbnail-related can be flushed, and in fact anything that's not in saves, Tray, Mods, or possibly Screenshots or Recorded Videos can be deleted without your losing anything.  You probably don't want Options.ini or ReticulatedSplinesView to be deleted because that would be inconvenient, but it's not the end of the world to lose either.

Having said that, it sounds like you might want to get rid of OneDrive entirely.  If you're interested, please see the first post of this master thread:

Thank-you! I've stopped Onedrive backing up documents and my desktop (?!), and just set it to back up things I want saved. I did delete the files in the end, and my game runs ok so fingers crossed I didn't do anything silly!

  • asthehind  I doubt you did anything silly, and if you did, you'll probably notice right away.  But the game will recreate any missing user files on its own, so you're likely fine.
