Dell Latitude 7480

Hiya, I was wondering if the Dell Latitude 7480 2017 would run The Sims 4 well. It has 16GB RAM, 256 GB, and i5 6300U. I'm not good with all the tech stuff I'm just a bit confused on whether it's cap...

@nubiasims  I wouldn't expect this laptop to run Sims 4 on more than low settings, at least not with all or most expansion packs installed.  That doesn't mean you couldn't play on it, just that you'd need to turn down the settings to get a decent experience.

If you already have this laptop, there's no harm in using it for Sims 4.  If you're shopping around, I'd suggest trying to find something better.  Let me know if you'd like help with the process, and in that case, please list your budget and country as well as any other details that matter to you.  Alternately, you can ask for suggestions for the kind of laptop you'd want to look for, but I'd still need an approximate budget to know what to suggest in terms of hardware.

Ok thanks. I’m looking for for any pc really. I have a really tight budget so I’m not sure if will be able to get any decent laptop to play the sims within that price, but £250 (uk). Thank you so much🙂

    @nubiasims  £250 is definitely tight, but doable if you're willing to get a used laptop.  These two have the same processor and graphics chip and therefore should have the same performance; the only meaningful difference is that the first has double the storage:

    Its processor and graphics chip are a little faster than the one in the laptops above.  The downside is it has only 128 GB storage.  This is barely enough for Sims 4 and Windows, so if you want to play with more than a few gigabytes worth of mods and custom content, it's not a good option.  On the other hand, you could store the game or its content on an external drive if you have one or can buy one later.

    To be more specific, Sims 4 with all current packs is just shy of 60 GB.  Windows is about 25 when you include runtimes and other critical add-on resources, and you'd want about 20 GB free.  So that leaves you 15 GB for saves, mods and custom content, and other apps like browsers.  On the other hand, if you only own a few expansions, Sims 4 is significantly smaller: 20 GB for the base game plus about 2 GB for each EP, althought there's some variation.

    If you're willing to buy from Ebay, that's another option; let me know and I'll have a look at the laptops there.

      Thank you for the help. I’ve seen a similar laptop to one you’ve mention but I’m not sure if it would be any good🙂

        @nubiasims  That's not similar at all: its processor is seven years old and so is the other hardware.  It's actually very similar to the first laptop you asked about.
