I finally got DX11 working (I needed to change global settings for my NVidia card for DX11 to be default) but now I can't use alt+tab anymore. This function is essential for a pc with only one screen to look up information and occasionally cheats while I play. I set the option of my video card back to have DX9 as default just for the alt+tab function. Furthermore it is essential for any program or game to have this option just in case the program gets stuck or crashes.

    PC, Windows 11, NVidia geforce MX450
  • Which language are you playing the game in?
    Dutch
  • How often does the bug occur?
    Every time ;
  • What is your current game version number?
    1.109.185.1030 DX11
  • What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed?
    All EP except lovestruck, all GP, all SP, about half of the kits;
  • Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves?
    Enabling DX11, opening the game, press alt+tab;
  • What happens when the bug occurs?
    The game remain open, I can't switch to my browser, picture editing software,...
  • What do you expect to see?
     being able switch to another program on my pc;

    I am having the same issue with an Intel GPU and integrated Nvidia GPU on my gaming laptop. 

    The game always loads with DX9 even though the game uses the Nvidia GPU on launch.

    I have seen other people suggest changing the control panel for Nvidia from auto select to Nvidia, but I don't want to have to do this as that means my laptop which I use for work too will always be using the Nvidia graphics card which will eat through my battery.

    EA need to look into this please. For the time being, I will continue to use 'auto select' and enabled DX11 in the command on the EA app.
