@puzzlezaddict Hi, so I did all of that, I didn't get any errors after the first step and this was the message I got after the second:
Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files and successfully repaired them.
For online repairs, details are included in the CBS log file located at
windir\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For example C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For offline
repairs, details are included in the log file provided by the /OFFLOGFILE flag.
After restarting the computer and checking for updates I tried to play the game again but it still crashed. Then I moved the Sims 4 folder out and started a new game and everything seems to be fine. Would I be able to move the contents of the old sims 4 folder back now or do I need to do anything else?
Thanks for all your help!
@AIT3ANN You can move the files you want to keep to the new Sims 4 folder, but please do so one folder at a time so you can figure out what the problem is. Saves and Tray files (saved households and builds) should be fine, as should Screenshots and Recorded Videos. Login rewards are saved to accountDataDB.package now. Anything in Mods needs to be tested, and anything in ConfigOverride should probably just be deleted until it's updated for this patch. The rest can be discarded, but here's a description of the files in case you're curious:

@puzzlezaddict After adding saves, screenshots and the accountDataDB.package everything was fine in both the new save that I made after refreshing the sims 4 folder and the original save that I first had the problem in.
When I added in the tray files it started crashing again. I did some testing (changing the lots visited, changing the home lot, using a different household from the gallery, using a townie etc.) and sometimes when travelling with different households it would crash after the first time and with other households it would crash after 2 or 3 travels. I also tested this in the new save with the tray files in and it happened there too. I then removed the tray files and went into that new save and it was fine.
I tested it with DX9 again and it wasn’t happening there so I’m just going to use that since there isn’t much of a difference anyway.
