  • Platform: Windows 11
  • Which language are you playing the game in? Swedish
  • How often does the bug occur? All the time when directx 11 is activated
  • What is your current game version number? 1.109.185.1030
  • What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? - All EP except for Love struck and For Rent. All GP ecxept My wedding stories and Batuu. SP - Moschino, Tiny Living, Laundry day stuff, Vintage Galmour, Cool Kitchen stuff, Backyard stuff, My first Pet stuff, Perfect Patio, Toddler, Movie hangout, Fitness, Romantic garden, Paranormal, Nifty Knitting. Kits - Desert lux kit, Blooming rooms kit.
  • Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Don´t know, it started happen after the lastest update for me.
  • What happens when the bug occurs? Upon start up everything looks fine, after like 15 seconds screens turns black and everything seems unsharp/blurry. Also can't go out from the game pressing the windows button to go to desktop.
  • What do you expect to see? No unsharp/blurry screen/game. Going out to desktop when pressing windows button.
  • Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods - I removed my whole mods folder including cache files before installing the update. Started the game without mods and started a new fresh game. So this is not mod related.

I tried to play the game in directx 9 which seems to solve the problem, but I think my computer should handle directx 11.

@swedishaurora  Your computer can certainly handle DirectX 11 mode.  Do you run into the same issues if you play in windowed mode?  I don't mean the inability to alt-tab, which is a known issue with DX11 mode, but the blurriness and the black screen.  By the way, you say the screen turns black and the game is blurry, so does that mean the black screen is temporary, or something else is going on?

If you see another issue of any kind (other than the alt-tab thing) when you try DX11 mode again, please look for new errors in the Reliability Monitor.  Hit Windows key-R and enter "perfmon /rel" without quotes, and you'll see a chart of errors and updates with a column for each day.  Today is on the right.

Look for an error that happened while you were playing Sims 4, and exactly at the time the screen changed if it happens again.  If you find one, double-click it to see more details, then copy that info and paste it into a reply here.  If you don't see a new error, check back in an hour or so—the Reliability Monitor doesn't always update right away.
