Does the Lenovo Flex 4 work with the Sims 4?

Hi! I am trying to find a cheap laptop that can run the Sims 4 and its expansion packs. I currently have an Acer Notebook and the City Living, Get to Work, and Vampires packs installed. After I installed the Cats and Dogs pack my game stopped working because of a memory issue. I was looking at the Lenovo laptops because I like the idea of a touchscreen computer. If there are any other laptops you guys have in mind, please let me know. They do not need to be touchscreen. Thank you for your help! 🙂 🙂 🙂
  • This is quite a good list: https://laptopunderbudget.com/best-laptops-under-400-dollars/

I copied the specs of one computer and made some comments in bold under them, maybe you can try and find a favorite with this info?

These are just basic info to get you on the right track, it's a bit more complicated than this, but it might take you somewhere at least 🙂

Minimum: you'll have to run the game on the lowest settings

    Processor

Intel Core i3-7100U 2.4 GHz Processor

You generally want something with 2,4 GHz or more.
    Minimum: 2.0 GHz

     RAM

    8 GB DDR4 RAM

8 GB is what you want

    Minimum: 4 GB

     Storage

    1TB 5400 RPM Hard Drive

1TB=1000GB. You want at least 500 GB

     Graphics

    Intel HD 620 Graphics

Hardest one, AMD and Nvidia generally better than Intel. Might have too google/ask about these.

Display15.6 Inch LED-lit Touchscreen Display with 1366×768 resolution
     Operating System

    Windows 10 64-bit OS

You need Windows (not ChromeOS), and the game only runs in64-bit (not 32)

    @Gamer23291812

There are several Leonvo Flex 4, please specify which one you're considering by sending a link to computer specs.

I checked 14" and 15" and well, yes, it would probably work, but the money is not worth it for game quality vs money. I guess you would pay for the touch screen, and if that is worth more to you, then go ahead 🙂
Both of them can run the game, the 14" in lower graphic settings than the 15".

This thread is just from this weekend, about buying a new laptop and playing Sims 4 on it, so it you're okay with a non touchscreen and that is in your price range, it's an alternative 🙂

  • Thank you for responding to me! I am terrible at computer stuff, and you helped a lot. The Lenovo Flex 4 laptop I was looking at was actually the 11 inch model, but I don't know if that makes a big difference. Do you have any other laptops you could recommend to me that are between 200-400 dollars? Thank you again! 🙂🙂🙂

    @Gamer23291812

Just checked out the 11", aaaand no, you cannot play The Sims 4 on that haha, wouldn't even call it a computer 😉

Also, 11 inch screen is very small for a screen 🙂
A smaller laptop usually have 13", a standard one around 15" and a bigger one 17"

If you want to play games on the computer i recommend 15 or bigger, but 17 can become a bit big if it's a computer you carry with you a lot.

For computer pricing it's hard as it's probably very different. But I can try, where do you live, US? (btw 2 am here so I might go to sleep and answer tomorrow) ^^

  • Yeah, the 11 inch did look pretty small to me but I figured it was worth a shot. Oh well! 🙃And yes, I do live in the U.S. Also, as long as the price and requirements are right, the screen size doesn't really matter to me. 🙂 🙂🙂

    Hi,

I checked that list and it’s remarkable. Since you first had this post up, a lot of things have changed and better machines have surfaced. Most of the machines on that list come with 8GB memory especially the 15 inch screen ones. The 15 inch Lenovo Flex 4 is a great choice (Check out the Lenovo Flex 4 (80VE000MUS Laptop review). But I also happened to come across the Acer Aspire R15 R5-571TG-7229 laptop which I also recommend.

It offers a more advanced and feature packed spec profile including Intel Core i7-7500U processor, 12GB DDR4 (which is better than Flex 4’s 8GB), 256 GB SSD and Nvidia GeForce 940MX. You get brighter and clearers images on the IPS screen and can enjoy 1080P playback.

This machine should cruise through SIMS 4 and other EA games easy. Btw, you can order it in the US. The one tradeoff is the pricing. It will set you back $700, which is more than your budget but less than the 15 inch Lenovo Flex 4 price tag ($845). But I can look for better options within that price (under $500) range in a few days.

  • Well, I don't think that a 400 dollar laptop can run Sims 4 smoothly. You have had to up your budget lit bit more to experience the real game it's only my opinion. for that, a 700 dollar gaming laptop is quite a good option and also in the budget here are my Top 3 recommended laptops.

1: Acer Nitro 5 (i Loved it and I am using it)

2: Asus Tuf FX505 (be careful when choosing its previous model is Fx504 when you buy to make sure its FX505)

3: Hp Pavilion 15 (it's cheap from both of them)
